My First D&D Module

OHMYGOD...............................................................................
Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) is the best game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay so we started playing at 2 and we just finished our first module. They should make these things into freaking movies. It was that intense. So all of our characters, Amanda (me), Lyrica (Madi), Factorial (Natalia), and River (Brittan) ended up in a tavern in this town called Alusia. We did stuff in the tavern and then all four of us ended up sharing a room. We got to know each other and then we explored around town and became a group.  I went looking for info on my grandparents in the market (Amanda's end goal) and everyone else wandered around town. River (Brittan) took a tour of this huge manor that was in town and became very curios because weird things happened. Lyrica (Madi) is a cleric so she went to the temple in town. Factorial was busy feeding the poor outside of the city. After a while we all went into the temple and prayed/stole four 5 hours (Factorial is a thief). Then we went back to the market and asked around about the manor. We found out tons of info, then we went into the manor (by now it was nighttime). It was unlocked and the butler opened the door for us and his eyes were rolled back into his head. Lyrica, River, and I all sat down in three chairs that were in front of the door. Factorial hid in the shadows. So the butler walked up to Lyrica an stuck out his hands and said "Follow me" (his eyes are still rolled back.) The room went black for everyone but Lyrica.

When Lyrica touched his hands the room transformed into a party with music and decorations but no people.  He led her through the library to a side room where he shut the door, but she couldn't tell if it was locked. A vial of red liquid and white powder were in the room and both of them were poison. When she tried to bang on the door, she became paralyzed with her hands stuck to the door.

After the room went completely black, the lights came back on and the butler looked at me and said "Follow me." After I touched his hands my hands and feet were immediately bound and he carried me to the library and locked me in a box.

Okay so this was a four hour thing and I don't want to type it all up, but tons and tons of even more creepy stuff happened. I mean seriously Brittan killed herself, but in the end we were transported to the nearby town of Melenis and Rachel (the DM) said that it was all a dream and the manor didn't even exist.

I know right. It was insane. Well afterwards Brittan, Madi, and I were all super hungry so we ordered pizza and ate in. It was super delicious.

I can't wait to D&D more on Friday!!!

See you LARPing.

Love,
Alora

P.S. LARPing means Live Action Role Play which is mostly what we are doing in our version of Dungeons and Dragons.
Guten Morgen my friends,
My arm is much better now and I have pictures of everything. Ok, so last night my arm hurt like hell, and now it is perfect which is good. Another thing happened last night that I left out because of my extreme pain. We gave Madi a mohawk with shaving cream. What up? That's about it for last night, although I did rewatch the first episode of Once Upon a Time because it's on Netflix.

Picture time...

So those are all of my photos and if you read all the way through and got to here after reading my captions then you get a free internet hug.

*HUG*

Yay! Now everyone is happy! I have to go, but I think you should go on twitter and follow @madisonkay1998 because she put up with the shaving cream.

TTYL,

Love,
Alora
Hey guess what, guys?
I'm in a whole bunch of pain right now. For those of you that don't know I have thick curly hair and tonight my friends decided to straighten it.  So Mimi and Madi got their straighteners out an went to work.  Well, you know how it is with friends everything goes everywhere so, they were taking a break from straightening my hair.  Lucky me, I leaned back to put my elbows on the ground and what did I find. A burning hot, water sizzling, super strength hair straightener.  I said ouch and then sort of went into shocked mode and asked for some ice.  Yeah, so now I'm sitting on my bed in the dark with ice and netflix ready to go. It's hard to type so I'm out.

Alora signing off.

Good Morning Family,
Yesterday was Friday, as you know, and today I slept in!!!! Yeah!! Although in reality I only got seven hours of sleep because I went to bed at 2:30.  We watched The Avengers, but we started it at like 1:30 so it wasn't eve over yet when I went to bed.  It was super fun to just watch part of it though because I was able to watch it with a large group of girls and we sat there commenting on the hot, sexiness of the guys.  I mean who doesn't love Captain America and Thor and Iron Man all in the same freaking movie.  Then when I got up I watched the next episode of Grimm and it was AWESOME!!!!! I won't spill any details in case you haven't seen it yet, but it rocked. Yeah!!! Well, I'm past the fun part of the weekend. Now it's time to do homework. yay...

Talk to you later,

Love,
Alora

Dear parents,
I am an official geek now. I have Minecraft and today I started my first game of Dungeons and Dragons. It was so much fun!!! I have never played D&D before, so tonight I made my first character ever. Her name is Amanda and she is a human ranger: basically a girl version of Aragorn without the whole royal blood line thing.  She has studded leather armor and a long bow. On Sunday we are meeting to play our first module and I am super excited. I must remember before then though to finish all of my homework.

More exciting news, season six of The Guild premieres on Tuesday and I can't wait.  A whole bunch of nerdy stuff has been happening lately and it's just so awesome.  Now I'm going to go watch the first two episodes of the new show Revolution on Hulu because the next episode of Grimm isn't up yet. Hmph. It should be up tomorrow though.

I just glanced back at this post and realized what a major geeky nerd of a person I am, but hey, it's fun to be a nerd.

See you in Nerdfighteria,

Love,
Alora

P.S. I'm sorry Hank Green if I spelled Nerdfighteria wrong.
Hola Padres,
Did you know that the only Spanish I've ever had was one quarter in sixth grade. Amazing right. I know. Yeah, I know that I can't actually speak it, but I can throw random words in my sentences for effect (or affect?). I had a math test earlier so I got out of class early. Woot! Woot! It was super easy and I'm pretty sure that I will keep up my average of 100%.  So...um...yeah...I'm going to go do my math homework.
Adios,
Alora

Dear Parents,
Yesterday was pretty awesome. I worked most of the morning, but it was really getting paid to do homework.  My supervisor didn't have much for me to do.  However, I did send mail and use the copy machine yesterday. I also played Minecraft...a lot.  I played for most of the day. I did still do homework.  I just didn't have that much homework yesterday and now it's Friday.

It's Friday, Friday. Gotta get down on Friday.

Sorry, force of habit. Now, more about yesterday...I ate candy corn!!!  I love candy corn and my TA for Personal Finance brought it to lab yesterday. Then, guess what? I ate it. hehehe. I love candy corn.

I also only had work and the one class yesterday. Woot! Woot!
I will talk to you all tonight.

Love,
Alora

Dear Parents,
Today was very hectic. I had five classes today and I kept losing track of time while playing on Minecraft. I am doomed. Madi (my roommate) helped me get Minecraft, and now I am addicted.  I played for two hours this morning, and I did tons of new stuff.  I killed a cow, found coal, found iron, made torches, finished my tree house with a ginormo sunset window, and I made a furnace.  Playing on peaceful mode is nice: monsters don't come get me and I don't have to eat. Ooh, and I made a door for my house.  I'm so excited, and I don't have much homework right now.  Well, except for my English paper that's due next Friday which I should probably be working on right now.  Oops. Oh well, time for a break down of my day.

First I went to Chemistry and we learned how to calculate moles and number of molecules and molarity. It was kind of confusing, but I think I get it now.  I definitely should know it because that's what I have to do on my lab.

College Algebra was EASY. I mean really. Did we have to a practice quiz for the test on Friday. The test is on factoring and solving quadratic equations by factoring.  Super easy.  Also, Mr. Bredder promised that all of the questions would be straightforward and simple: not frustrating and fun.  Oh well, next semester I get to take trig and then in the fall I get to take Calculus.  I can't wait! I've never really ever been challenged much in math.

Next class, PEGlish was kinda fun. We went over the theses that everyone had submitted for our papers. It was quite amusing at times. At one point a stink bug was flying around the classroom, and then we had an impromptu grammar lesson on apostrophes and the Oxford comma (the comma before the "and" in a list).  Dr. Kennedy is very much for the comma.  I must remember to put it in my lists.  Also, we had a long discussion on the usefulness of standardized testing.  All of us were against it, so we just shared stories.  I talked about the TCAPS (bane of my educational career) and the CRTs and the NeSA (both not too bad).  I think that standardized testing can be useful, but most of the time it just makes teachers teach to the test which is no fun.

Personal finance was fun. We discussed credit reports today, and we talked a lot. Most of that class is discussion, but Professor Ewing some how still manages to cram and homework into each one.  Last weekend I spent all of Sunday working on homework for that class.  It wasn't supposed to take all day, but luckily I'd already finished the rest of my Monday homework. Oh and o m i g o d they had moose tracks in the ice cream thing at Hunt for lunch: moose tracks.  Usually they just have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.  Today, they didn't even have those. They had lemon sorbet, mint chocolate chip, cookies and creme, and moose tracks!!!! It was so yummy which was good because the real food was d i s g u s t i n g.  I waited for like ten minutes for beef ravioli and guess what? It was bow ties with beef sauce not ravioli. It was actually better than dinner, but hey. I wanted ravioli.

Class five, marching band!!!!! I love marching band. It is so much fun!!! We have really fun music an we march around.  Ooh and we got to see the design for the t-shirt today and it is awesome!!  Also, also...wait for it...we have a free trip to New York next semester to play in the Saint Patrick's Day parade. Yes I did say "free." I can't wait!!!!

Also guys you should check out Madi's blog (collegewithchester.blogspot.com).  I'm on there some too, but just in spirit I don't actually post.

I'll see you on the morrow. Good night guys.

Love,
Alora Wogsland

P.S. I don't have class tomorrow!!!! MBC 101 was canceled!!! I'm ecstatic!!!

Dear Parents,
This is my new blog. I want to share all of my exploits at college with you.  I know classes started a few weeks ago, but I'll just give you a recap: school. That's what happened last week and the week before and the week before that, but not the week before that.

Today, I had a chemistry test.  Not just any test or quiz. No, a chemistry test.  I have never even taken high school chemistry so most of this is pretty new.  I studied all day yesterday and more today.  I got there and the test was 20 multiple choice questions and two short answer.

Really?

All of that studying for nothing.  Well, not really nothing. I did use the polyatomic ions that I memorized this morning, but everything else was super easy.  I had worried for nothing, but now I am chemistry free. Until tomorrow anyways. Oh well...

Topic change

I also had chem lab today along with the test. We titrated vinegear with sodium hydroxide (NaOH).  I did a perfect titration my very first try, but then I had to do it four more times to get three volumes that were within .5mL of each other. I still got out of lab an hour early, and I got to make pretty pink solutions. Remember, if it's pink it can go down the sink (pink means the phenolphthalein, the indicator, has indicated that the pH is between 8 and 9, so the solution has been neutralized).

I also worked today, and did research on twins.  I myself am a twin, so I am doing my next English paper on the misconceptions surrounding twins.  For example, if you punch Brittan (my twin sister) I can't feel it, but it is really really funny (so keep punching her).  Finally, I have been obsessed with the Big Bang Theory theme song all week.  It is so much fun, and I know all of the words.

Well that's all for now.

Love,
Alora
